Are You M.A.D.? 3 Ways You Should Always Be

Living in a perpetual state of being mad seems to be the place of many souls on this journey and it seems odd for me to encourage such a state.

Being mad can mean many states, did you know that? The actual definition of the word here can mean anything from being insane to actually being crazy about something; very excited, if you will.

In these days, it seems that many are perpetually looking for a reason to be upset and mad about life, about the country in which they live, about their condition, about their relationships… and the list goes on.

The ego plays a large part in that, as it is nothing but a protected of you, or so it tells you. It is always looking for a reason to be pissed about something, but to truly live an excellent life, madness must become different.

Let’s Always Be M.A.D.

Admittedly, i have been playing with you here. Yes, being mad is a state of mind and that state should actually be encouraged in another way. You see, being M.A.D. as the way i define it, is to always be Manifesting (an) Abundant Destiny.

It is not only your mission to be M.A.D. but it is as the Universe has so designed us to be. To constantly be manifesting an abundant destiny is to truly live the life that we are all capable of doing, but so few have decided they can not have for whatever reason.

3 Ways to Begin to be M.A.D.

Way 1: Decide First that Abundance is a State of Mind

You see, it begins in the mind that we are abundant creatures deserving of an abundant existence. Life is too short to think you don’t deserve the best state of mind that is your continued existence. The first prerequisite to Manifesting an Abundant Destiny is to always understand that it is within you as you must know that you are always abundant.

Don’t get caught in the egoic trap of your surroundings dictating to you your mindset. Just because your immediate surroundings may not have the toys of the world that are supposed to indicate an abundant state, believe me they are only an extension thereof.

Recently, there was a big lottery that millions desired to win. I literally mean, millions, as many who usually decided against playing the lottery, now decided to get in on the action.

Now for a country that is supposedly against the “rich”, as the media has droned on about, and the way being rich is used as a political football as class-warfare is the tool of the day, it seems a lot desire to be there, doesn’t it?

But don’t be deluded in thinking that money is abundance. It all begins within. Why do you think people like Donald trump who was millions in debt in the 90’s, turned it around to become the billionaire he is now?

It is about a mindset first, always.

Way 2: Know that You Are Not Your Present Conditions

As was said, it is easy to get in a trap that says your current situation or surroundings are your abundance. In Manifesting an Abundant Destiny, you are to be all about living in the knowledge that life is as magnificent as you decide to make it.

One of the richest persons in modern times was certainly Mother Theresa. She gave with such an abundant mindset, that it affected everyone she ever met. People were drawn to her because of the Manifesting Abundant Destiny she lived in the service to the poor in Calcutta and everywhere she went.

Her abundance was her service but she did so with a heart that was only abundance.

You, too, are of the same star stuff as Mother Theresa and are abundant beyond your nature. Live it for that is the Universal Way.

Way 3: Go Beyond Yourself to See Your Abundance Become Manifest

The best way to always be Manifesting an Abundant Destiny is to live with others in mind. If you are constantly giving yourself away and looking for opportunities to become the face of abundance, then you will become it in ways you may never fully comprehend.

Look for ways to live your abundance. Pay for the food of the driver behind you in the drive-thru. Be of service. Love the skin you are in by loving the skin of others even more.

We are all the same no matter what the color of skin or the nationalities that separate us. The Universe makes no mistakes and we are all here to be always Manifesting an Abundant Destiny.

It is the mission to share of ourselves in the process.

The Journey of Worry: 3 Ways to Understand How it Undermines You

How is it that souls of love that we are all truly destined to become, have allowed this fear of living, fear of life to pervade our very existence? It is my belief that worry is the one place within us that seems to infect every aspect of our beings.

Let me come at it in a different way than most would.

Worry is that common emotion of the soul that has no place ever within us, yet we excuse it in ourselves and find it repugnant in every one else.

How often do we tell someone else not to worry, when that is our inclination to do so?

It is almost as if we are expected to worry about life in so many ways and if we don’t we are called “flighty” or “cold-hearted” or we are irresponsible in some way. Imagine that, the very act of NOT worrying and staying true to who you are makes you irresponsible in the eyes of some.

Can you imagine if you decided to travel the world and, because you set out on a journey of self discovery, you are labeled as irresponsible. Isn’t that the height of responsibility in and of itself? Isn’t the very act of discovering yourself mean you become a better person of love for the human condition.

If you find yourself living is such fear as to not make that journey, then merely look at the program, The Amazing Race, where teams travel around the world in a short amount of time. What most take from the race is the journey within that transforms them and their relationships with not only one another, but with humanity.

By seeing other cultures and participating in tasks that many times test their assumptions about themselves, the individuals find that their fear of truly living was baseless. That their worry about life, in general, was nothing more than the ego’s attempt to “protect” them.

Protect them from what? Not sure but the ego is constantly telling you and showing you, often based in nothing, what to worry about.

3 Ways to Understand How Worry Impacts your Journey

Worry is so baseless that it cripples us from truly living life. The sad fact is that society breeds that fear from childhood on. Oh, I’m not saying that we aren’t to be aware of our surroundings but we are not to live in a constant state of “what if” this or that happens.

Way 1: The “What-If’s” of Life

The ego can play out a scenario to its end based on a “what if” situation so compelling that you may actually believe it. Sometimes even so much as to manifest the very worry the ego has so cleverly ‘what if’ed” so the ego can say to you, “See, i told you so.” Then once the ego has you there, you actually feel guilt about not worrying.

Do you see the insidiousness of worry?

Way 2: Worry of Others via the Ego

There is another component of worry that really is at the core of worry to begin with. The ego masks it as “making sure you are good with yourself.” It is the “What others think of me and my decisions” thought pattern as a guide for living truth in your life that is your journey alone.

Yes, we impact others with our lives, that is the very nature of living, but if you come from a place of truth, from a place of love, then there seldom will a worry be a concern of how you impact others.

The very thought that your belief that others thoughts, that you assign to them, about you, are somehow a determinant for living your life is bizarre.

However, It happens all the time.

Way 3: The Present Moment is Always Sacrificed on the Altar of Worry

The Present Moment is never the friend of worry and the ego goes to great lengths to make sure that it is not involved in any way in the process. Understand that living in the moment means that you give away your thoughts to a greater power.

There is a release factor that must take place and trust me, when you truly start to live in this arena, the slings and arrows will fly at you from every corner as one who doesn’t “take life seriously”.

This is the insidiousness of worry and how it has become so prevalent within our modern-day society. We are almost expected to sacrifice the present moment to the altar of worry. This is a trap far too many fall into but you can decide not to take the journey.

In the end, life will meet you in the most uncommon of places when you release the worry-demon that tries to infect your living.

Your pursuit of excellence is to not allow it to happen.

Be a Person of Quality. Direct Your Power.

What Pulls You Forward? 3 Questions to Ask

I get a sense that there is an easiness within the souls i have encountered as of late. Maybe it speaks to a larger sense that we are on the edge of something, like a butterfly getting ready to emerge from its cocoon.

I sense this from those i encounter and sense a larger dynamic within the ebb and flow of the world-at-large. I am not saying it is good or bad as i care not to label it, but merely come as an observer of the human condition.

You, too, must be careful to label any uneasiness you may be having within your own life as it may be an indicator of a breakthrough of some kind. Labeling something as good or bad, especially bad, tends to shut off the stream of higher consciousness that seeks to be your destiny.

Most resist, but the more you ask questions about the journey, the more clarification becomes your very existence. It seems to be an oxymoron as we are a society that always wants answers, but the truth is that it is the questions we ask that are the essence of living in beautiful Now Moments.

3 Questions to Ask in Moving Forward

Now when we speak of moving forward, especially in light of living in this Now Moment, there is a danger that we become future-based alone, which is where the ego desires you. But only in the stillness of this Now Moment do your questions become a guide to the connecting Now Moments.

Question 1: What is Your Truth?

At the heart of all moving forward, you must ask if you are being truthful to who you are. Essentially, are you where you want to be within that manifest without in your environment? This may require that you step aside, get out of your own head, and really discover if the core values that you have identified as important to you are truly being lived in a way that makes sense.

Remember that externals do not determine who you are; that your surroundings are only an indicator of you, they are not you. You are not your career, but the essence of your career is who you are.

Make sense?
To begin here with this question, you have to go within and get a sense of your truth.

Question 2: Do You Inspire Others With Whom You Are?

Sometimes the greatest way you can inspire yourself is to be of service to others with whom you are. Do people seek your advice or wisdom? Are you open to be approached?

Sometimes the mere aspect of getting out of your own way and to quit worrying about the future  is to be of service to others. When you are open and allow your spirit to shine in such a way that people can sense that from you, you will be surprised as to how you will begin to see others around you in a more loving light.

Question 3: Are You Able to Define Your Desires and Then Release Them?

Yoda said to a transcendent Obi-Wan in “Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back” about Luke, “”always looking to the future this one is. Never his mind on where he is, what he is doing.”

The point was that the force gave you an insight into the future as an awareness, but it is only when you truly release your constant future-based thinking can you be mindful of living Now Moments alone.

Sometimes to move forward, you have to release the forward nature to become a connected string of beautiful Now Moments. There is a connection to all Now Moments and it is the essence of peace, love and joy that is who you are within.

Once understood and fully lived, life takes on a newness and your truth is ever-present and any uneasiness melts away.

Be a Person of Quality. Direct Your Power.

Until then…

Be Excellent, Expect the Best!

We Are Creatures of Habit: 3 Ways to Understand Your Role

Change, Change, Change… as the old song goes, right? But have you ever fully noticed how we get so upset at the slightest change within our lives? Even if our daily routine is changed but by a bit it somehow is supposed to now affect the entire day.

I was sitting in my local coffee shop one day and a service man came next to me with his tray that had his drink. In the course of setting his breakfast down, his drink was spilled and you had thought that we had just had an international incident occur.

Exasperated, he said to his buddy,”Well, i guess that will set the tone for the day. Great!”

Now, mind you, he spilled not a drop on himself. The restaurant crew was there to clean it and his drink was easily replaced. Nor did any of his other breakfast become saturated by the spilled drink.

Now, my inner coach had to leap to the defense of the rest of the day for this young man and i simply said, “It is only a spilled drink. it has nothing to do with any part of the day ahead. You are better than a drink slipping from your grasp. It has no reflection upon anything that will happen, ever.”

The young man smiled and said, “You are right. I am in the command of daily changes in the service. i guess a drink should not determine my day in any way.”

He got my point. Stuff happens and it is no reflection of any upcoming happening. It is what it is.

Why is it that we think everything should be as the ego says it should always be, that everything is predictable when we know that life is not that way.

Creatures of Habit

One of the reasons we are affected by stuff happening is that we are creatures of habit and we are emotional cauldrons always being stirred and sometimes the pot just overflows at the least bit of stirring.

3 Major Ways We Deal With Change

Way 1: Our Personality Filter

This is the way we are put together in many ways. It is what makes us tick, it is how we view the world. We have a dominant way that happens for us and it is a great way to understand ourselves.

Knowing this information can lead us into ways we can adapt our reactive ways in dealing with change, but really, at the core of all personality types is the ability to harness your inner peace so as to not become trapped by the way we are. In a sense, don’t become a victim to your personality type that you perceive yourself as having as it may become a crutch.

Way 2: Our Levels of Awareness

A spilled drink should not become an awareness of a day of one “bad” thing happening after another. Anything that impacts your level of awareness becomes a hindrance to your becoming a true Now Moment thinker.

It is amazing how the simplest of changes in the morning routine that our ego has decided is our reality can manifest in ways that make no sense within the time frame of our day. When you strive to reach a heightened state of consciousness then you are more able to live within the confines of each Now Moment. A spilled drink is simply a spilled drink within that moment alone and has no connection to some other event.

It is never the “spilled drinks” in our lives, but our reaction to them that truly matters.

Way 3: Our Conscious Awareness of the Change

This plays into Way 2 in that the more you are aware, the more you are able to no longer be the reactive, impetuous creature that is affected by an event that takes you away from your norm.

Remember that there is no normal, really, and if there is, why is there?

How do you generally react to change?

On the spectrum of actively seeking change to actively avoiding it, where do you fall?

How do you manage your feelings about change, especially if the change is not one you chose?

Your awareness that life is an ever-evolving place and that if we are not “change” on some level, then we are not really becoming better Universal creatures.

Yes, we like the routine, but we are not vested in it. Look for the opportunity to be change to a world that has become stuck in routine. For it is here that you become better, the world becomes better.

3 Ways To Begin With A Great Attitude

When a Director sits down with his theatrical production staff and they set out to begin the process of producing the next show to be done (usually the plays are chosen in advance, a season at a time, but the process is the same), the very first thing they look at is the attitude of the theatre-going public that is their audience.

The question to ask essentially is “What is it that they will desire to see?”

As in anything, it is a focused intensity to really know what your audience will pay to see. You see, when doing a community theatre production, you must put in a season of shows that have name recognition and are intriguing enough to get the casual play-goer a desire to see what it is you are offering. Yes, in a season, you may have one show that tends to be more edgy because the rest of the season can support it. But the season must be geared towards a complete experience that caters to your audience.

From there, they look to the general “attitude” of each individual show itself. Is it a musical, a drama, a comedy? What are the characters like and what kinds of attitude are they looking to from those who audition?

As a Director, you always have a concept of the part, not of who should be playing the part so much, as every actor brings a different attitude to the role, but the general overall attitude of the role. I have cast people who were not as good of singers in a musical, for example, but brought a tremendous chemistry, an overall attitude, to the role. This could make all the difference in the way a play is perceived.

It is is same as you begin to look at an opportunity or challenge that you face. As stated previously, it is the questions you ask at the beginning that help you frame the task ahead, such as is life.

The key here is the attitude you bring to the questions, as well as the answers, and it is crucial that you approach opportunities and challenges with a superb attitude.

Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude

There is an old maxim that goes, “Your Attitude determines your Altitude” and it goes without saying that if you don’t bring a great attitude into the challenge/opportunity, then there is not much chance that you will succeed at the task.

Why? Because if you are not fully invested with an incredible passion for the answers your questions pose, then why bother in the first place?

I am speaking from experience here. I’ve learned the hard way that by not being honest with yourself and by not living in this Now Moment by asking great questions and having an attitude that accompanies the answers that you know the universe will give you, then there is an expectation that will never be fulfilled.

Inevitably, there will be failure, which leads to a myriad of domino-like attitudes about yourself that doom most Now Moment living.

3 Ways to Adopt A Dynamic Attitude

Way 1: Find the parts of the challenge/opportunity that create a passion in you.

Yes, even with challenges there are elements within the challenge that do indeed inspire you. It may be nothing more than the person that is involved with you, but whatever that dynamic is, find that part and seize it. That is the aspect of any challenge or opportunity that will give you a laser-like focus until the end

Way 2: After aligning your passion point, now frame it as a pursuit.

Let me explain. I have developed within myself a disdain for the word….work. I no longer look towards work but, instead, look to the word, Pursuit. Reason being is that within the word pursuit is the definition, “the act of striving” and one dictionary has attached to it, zeal. So no longer are you working at something. Instead, have a “zeal” for it.

Find that part that drives you and pursue it

Way 3: After zoning in on your zeal, “audition” the people and other aspects needed to get you to opening night with style.

Remember, it is all about the attitude and not always is the most obvious choice the right one for you. Look at the attitude of whoever you bring on and will they bring that same attitude to the part you give them. Consequently, will you be able to derive a sense of attitude from other elements of the challenge/opportunity. Is that attitude suitable to you?

Again, the most obvious choice is not always the one that brings you a great attitude. It is all about creating an attitude of gratitude for the zeal of the challenge/opportunity at hand.

Create a great attitude and the results will be manifest from the universal realm. It is a universal law.

Let me know your thoughts and share with your friends. The greater the conversation, the better we move forward in this Now Moment.

3 Ways We Can Seek To Separate Ourselves From Anxiety

There are so many ways that anxiety seems to rear its ugly head, especially within a society that treasures achievement such as ours.

While there is nothing wrong with achieving as that is the Universal Way, (actually more expansion of who we are than achievement, per se.) the very nature of achievement sometimes seems to go against the act of living a victorious life.

One might call those strong words but i am not here to tread lightly as i have no desire to coddle anyone when it comes to living a life of excellence.

High Expectations of the Achieving Life

It seems as if we are expected to “BE” so much today, are we not?

But sometimes in the very act of becoming, we simply forget to just “Be”. We allow so many influences, from family and friends, to society-at-large, to set the tone for our living. We become, then, filled with an angst that stems from so many voices crying out to us, seeming in our own heads. It is the call of expectations of all in our lives who demand that we are “more”, whatever that is.

More than what? More than who? And more importantly, WHY?

The past beacons us, our “so-called” failures beseech us, our ego compares us and we sink deeper into the abyss, often falling on the weight of fears of a future that we can not support or even imagine.

Why are you anxious? What are the signs and symptoms we should be dealing with here? And, the real question; Who are you in the process?

As a Life Coach, this is the area that seems to be the most pressing for most i encounter. Anxiety, worry, angst, depression…they are all tied into a precarious knot that can doom many and even lead few to consider even taking their own lives.

But there is always a core that the anxiety covers and that is the journey we take to discover the beauty of living in the Present Moment, for here is where all truth lives. This is the Now Moment that we find a way up and out and into a new way of living.

But the ultimate truth is always our own journey that must be discovered. To truly rid yourself of the anxiety in any situation, or just in your daily living, you must do some basic self-reflection steps to have the insight to move forward. Be it with a Life Coach, or through meditation, or just taking yourself fishing…whatever it takes to gain some clarity, it needs to be done.

My father had a peculiar saying that he would spout when Alzheimer’s had taken its grip on him and that was, “Hey, did you stop and smell the roses?” Seemingly out of nowhere, he would interject the saying into conversations. Now my father would occasionally say that growing up, usually as a glib saying, but the simple fact is that there is an ultimate truth here for life. It is a quote that is thrown about so much that we do sometimes forget its significance.

A famous golfer, Ben Hogan, said it beautifully when he said, “As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round.”

3 Ways to Begin the Transition Away from Anxiety

Anxiety is a far reaching subject, to be sure, but as it was in the theatre, to get ready for the production of any theatrical production, there are things that have to happen before we even get to rehearsals. We have to consider a lot of factors before even choosing the show and consider all of the elements that go into the production.

The three ways we begin the process is similar then to getting ready for a show; separation, reflection and connection.

When preparing for a show, the separation usually comes from a director getting with the board of directors to choose a vision for a production asking such questions such as, do we do a comedy or is a musical good now?

So when it comes to setting the stage for getting to the heart of your anxiety, you must be willing to prepare.

Way 1: Separation

The goal is to separate ourselves in an atmosphere free from distractions; yes that means your precious smart phone, tablet or laptop. Silence is golden here. Take time for yourself to free yourself from the rush and crush of life for a bit.

Way 2: Reflection.

This is the step that may be the most heartfelt, or should be. This is you identifying the root core and being completely honest with who and where you are in this current moment. Putting all angst aside, you are indeed present in this moment. So in this Now Moment, the worry that brought you to this point has nothing to do with this moment, so drop it. You are here, be here completely Now. Do not allow the future that your ego is painting for you to exist. Make your own rules, which leads us to the third step.

Way 3: Connection or Connectivity.

Such as is preparation to start the theatrical production, these are the components that you have identified in your reflection stage that will move you away from angst; the concepts, people, places and things that you need to begin the process of looking towards the light that is your life. This is the process of the understanding that there is always a way forward.

In the end, it is a solitary journey that opens itself up to the resources the Universe provides for those who are willing to allow for a brighter future. Anxiety is not a way to live in this Present Moment and has no place here. Let’s begin the process together for while it is indeed a solitary journey, you are never alone.

Zombies Everywhere! 3 Ways to Stop Being One

It seems as if zombies are all the rage these days. Well, i guess we are over the fascination with vampires and werewolves, but really, the zombie problem will never go away, will it?

Did you know that the US government actually has a zombie policy in place these days? Yes, indeedy, the CDC has a page up here and while they say it is tongue-in-cheek, the US government doesn’t really have a sense of humor, so i have got to believe that they are up to no good when it comes to zombies.

But the bigger problem, other than an actual zombie attack, is the way we go about our lives as if we too, are, zombies, just feeding ourselves in a generally mindless fashion without a thought on how we are to become the expansive and creative creatures the universe has planned for us.

Think about it; we get up, we go to work or whatever, we take our scheduled lunches and breaks. We then trudge through the night-time ritual with family and friends and plan for some, hopefully, extracurricular activity on the weekend.

Good golly, Miss Molly…Stop the insanity!

It is time to change things up here and quite living like you are a zombie just feeding on whatever sucker happens into your realm. Start looking at life as a beautiful creation with endless possibilities.

3 Ways to De-Zombify Your Life

Way 1: Look at What You Bring to the Table

Ok, not other humans to eat here, but, seriously, what is it that gets your motor running? What is it about you that you can use to make the world a better place to live for others. It is all about how we serve others and not the mindless pursuit of our own self interest constantly.

It is that God-given part of you that makes you special that needs to become the dominant force in your life. Whatever it is, do that one thing well.

Way 2: Stop Living in What You Think is Expected

Whatever you do, shake things up to a degree. It is very easy to get lost in patterns in your life but maybe it is time to become a bit unpredictable. Take a different way to work. Heck, take a day off and take someone you care about somewhere for a day completely in the spur of the moment. Life is too short to become so stagnated that you can’t seem to see past your daily routine.

Get involved in some situation that takes you out of your comfort zone. Volunteer somewhere. Help someone expecting nothing in return. Do something. Make your life a living testament to the specialness that is your destiny.

Way 3: Live in a Different Mindset that requires You to Stretch Your Preconceived Notions of Time and Space

This one will require that you see outside your reality a bit in that, you need to try to understand the Universal Way. Now, before you say, “This weird thinking is not for me.” That is exactly the point.

We live in a connected universe and it is time that you see it as such. Everything has a connection and it is time that you live as if you understood at some level, even if your ego is telling you differently, that we are all in this together. See all as creatures of love and you, as the giver of a new radiance that is love and respect for all.

Your mind can conceive of a tremendous new reality if you just allow it to be. Don’t get caught in patterns of sameness that cause you to not see the Universe as a place that is expansive and holds no limits on you.

Be bigger than you think is possible. You owe it to yourself.

Go and live for the Universe but awaits your involvement. Quit being a zombie.

Be a Person of Quality. Direct Your Power.

Until then…

Be Excellent, Expect the Best!
