Killing Happiness With The External: 3 Ways to Look Within

I was coaching a client the other day who was telling me the boredom that had beset her and that there was “nothing to do” that brought her joy.

Even a casual follower of this blog knows where i will go with that, but in case you are of the mindset that the external; the vacations, the special occasions, the parties, etc, etc, will bring you some sort of peace within your life, you probably need to re-evaluate your thinking.

As i told my client, there is nothing “out there” that can ever bring you a joyful countenance if you  first are not living in some kind of place where love, joy and peace are at least a small reality.

There can never be an event, an occasion or even another person, that can bring you to a place of joy in your life if you first don’t come to grips with the essence of love within first.

The Goal Line is Constantly Being Moved

Maybe it is the idea that we are always in the pursuit of happiness and that it lies in the obtaining. But isn’t the goal line always seemingly being moved on you? Or maybe it is more like the Charlie Brown character who expects different results every time he goes to kick the football as Lucy is holding it.

3 Ways to Look Within for Happiness

That is the fleeting expression of happiness that is always an external pursuit. The truth is that we are happiness, love, peace and joy, first, and then the truth of that happiness will then manifest outside of ourselves.

Way 1: Find Your Happy Place

Understand that within us all is that place that we are our own truth. Maybe it has become obscured by life, by the opinions of others, by your expectations of what exactly happiness is supposed to be.

Whatever the reason, you must understand that there is a truth that is your joy that may be as simple as understanding that your very nature is love, first. There is a place that you go to, whether you know it or not, that gives you a sense of peace. It is not the place so much as who you are within that place. That is your happy place.

Way 2: Know That Who You Are in All Situations is the Joy You Bring

When a situation that is supposed to bring you a happiness within comes to you, understand it is you that brings any sense of joy to that place to begin with.

A situation, a place or a romance is not the happiness but simply an extension of the peace you bring into it. If you go to a party and everyone is standing around with scowling looks on their faces, was it the party that was bad?

One might say so, but have you ever been in a place where there is one soul that is so dynamic that they change the atmosphere of the room when they enter?

You are that one who can bring joy to a place where there may be none, but you have to believe it first. If it is an act, it will eventually fade away. It must be genuine.

Way 3: Live Your Joy When No One is Looking

This plays into Way 2 in that there must be a genuine expression of that joy found within for this to all make sense. Many would say that this is a process.

Yes and no, but i am more of the mindset that it is a decision that is strictly internal. There are no conditions that must be in place for you to understand that it is your birthright to be joy, to be love and to be peace.

No one must be in your life, no amount of money must be within your reach, you are not at the whims of others and their opinions of you in order to begin this process. It is simply an understanding that you are already that soul of love, peace and joy and you must embrace the essence of that within so as to live it without.

Sometimes it as simple as a decision. Let the process begin there.  In the end, it is a solitary journey that you must understand exists. Your journey then involves others on their solitary journey as well and joy becomes a manifesting destiny.

Live yours well.

Action vs Inaction: 3 Ways To Be Inspired

Some days i feel so uninspired, until i don’t! Does that make sense?

Let me give it to you another way.

The very act of being inspired to take any action is not so much a compulsion in which to do something, but a desire to be a person of action that comes from a place of grace within. The very act of being a person that comes from a place of power within means that there has been a release to a power greater than myself.

Then inaction becomes the opposite of grace. Desperation is really the key of inaction and when you are desperately “trying” to do something, you are actually paralyzed with the inaction that you presently feel within that situation.

It is as if inaction begets a force to become action that most often is rooted in desperation.

I know that feeling all too well as a writer who is constantly carving out creative blocks to create my masterpiece. When i get that desperate feeling to create, i start feeling stress and tension in my body. My mind begins to scramble for options and solutions to the situation and I feel fear and struggle and confusion often increases as to the way in which to create.

The Ego Seeks to Dominate You

So, then i become inactive and, if i am not fully aware, that state could lead into doubt and worry. But as a Now Moment thinker, i am way ahead of the ego’s attempt to label me as a failure or a slacker, or lazy or whatever else the ego has up its sleeve to maintain its control.

To be quite honest, the ego is essentially the process of edging God out (ego) of your consciousness so as to make you reliant on it instead of being connected to the Universal Source that knows the perfection that is right for you.

3 Ways To Be Inspired

To know the difference between inspired action and that of desperation is to know when you are in that state of mind immediately.

Way 1: Understand Desperation Within You and the Conditions That Cause It

Understand that desperation is rooted in fear and is driven by the mind/ego in an effort to create a desired change. Desperation, then, is the ego’s attempt to control, manage, or avoid something that is perceived as bad and is anticipated to be an experience of suffering.

Action, then, taken in desperation, creates resistance and results in suffering and, usually, is a feeling or set of emotions that the ego then uses to define you.

Being self-aware means that you are aware when the conditions arise that bring you to this point and you are now able to begin the process of turning your focus.

Way 2: Become Aware of the Now Moment Alone

When this desperation feeling starts to become your existence, become acutely aware of the Now Moment alone. Focus on being ever present and understand the very nature of Inspired Action.

You see, Inspired Action solely comes from within and you will know it by the way that it creates an awakening within you. You will feel intuitive nudges, subtle repetitive thoughts, sensations and a deep sense of knowing and trust in the Universal Stream. Things that feel Divinely guided come as a sense of peace in your heart, even if the action is uncomfortable.

Way 3: Release, Let Go and Flow

Now that you are operating from that place of awareness, you must stop and release your resistance to the inaction and come from a place of Inspired Action. You must then Let Go of the emotions that the ego is trying to pin on you and simply not allow to be defined by them.

From here, you begin the process of flowing into a new way of living life and that is from a place of confidence and trust in being inspired from a Universal Design for your life. It is from here that the heart of Inspired Action begins to be released within.

Let life happen naturally and without struggle for this is where you find your truth.

3 Ways We Can Seek To Separate Ourselves From Anxiety

There are so many ways that anxiety seems to rear its ugly head, especially within a society that treasures achievement such as ours.

While there is nothing wrong with achieving as that is the Universal Way, (actually more expansion of who we are than achievement, per se.) the very nature of achievement sometimes seems to go against the act of living a victorious life.

One might call those strong words but i am not here to tread lightly as i have no desire to coddle anyone when it comes to living a life of excellence.

High Expectations of the Achieving Life

It seems as if we are expected to “BE” so much today, are we not?

But sometimes in the very act of becoming, we simply forget to just “Be”. We allow so many influences, from family and friends, to society-at-large, to set the tone for our living. We become, then, filled with an angst that stems from so many voices crying out to us, seeming in our own heads. It is the call of expectations of all in our lives who demand that we are “more”, whatever that is.

More than what? More than who? And more importantly, WHY?

The past beacons us, our “so-called” failures beseech us, our ego compares us and we sink deeper into the abyss, often falling on the weight of fears of a future that we can not support or even imagine.

Why are you anxious? What are the signs and symptoms we should be dealing with here? And, the real question; Who are you in the process?

As a Life Coach, this is the area that seems to be the most pressing for most i encounter. Anxiety, worry, angst, depression…they are all tied into a precarious knot that can doom many and even lead few to consider even taking their own lives.

But there is always a core that the anxiety covers and that is the journey we take to discover the beauty of living in the Present Moment, for here is where all truth lives. This is the Now Moment that we find a way up and out and into a new way of living.

But the ultimate truth is always our own journey that must be discovered. To truly rid yourself of the anxiety in any situation, or just in your daily living, you must do some basic self-reflection steps to have the insight to move forward. Be it with a Life Coach, or through meditation, or just taking yourself fishing…whatever it takes to gain some clarity, it needs to be done.

My father had a peculiar saying that he would spout when Alzheimer’s had taken its grip on him and that was, “Hey, did you stop and smell the roses?” Seemingly out of nowhere, he would interject the saying into conversations. Now my father would occasionally say that growing up, usually as a glib saying, but the simple fact is that there is an ultimate truth here for life. It is a quote that is thrown about so much that we do sometimes forget its significance.

A famous golfer, Ben Hogan, said it beautifully when he said, “As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round.”

3 Ways to Begin the Transition Away from Anxiety

Anxiety is a far reaching subject, to be sure, but as it was in the theatre, to get ready for the production of any theatrical production, there are things that have to happen before we even get to rehearsals. We have to consider a lot of factors before even choosing the show and consider all of the elements that go into the production.

The three ways we begin the process is similar then to getting ready for a show; separation, reflection and connection.

When preparing for a show, the separation usually comes from a director getting with the board of directors to choose a vision for a production asking such questions such as, do we do a comedy or is a musical good now?

So when it comes to setting the stage for getting to the heart of your anxiety, you must be willing to prepare.

Way 1: Separation

The goal is to separate ourselves in an atmosphere free from distractions; yes that means your precious smart phone, tablet or laptop. Silence is golden here. Take time for yourself to free yourself from the rush and crush of life for a bit.

Way 2: Reflection.

This is the step that may be the most heartfelt, or should be. This is you identifying the root core and being completely honest with who and where you are in this current moment. Putting all angst aside, you are indeed present in this moment. So in this Now Moment, the worry that brought you to this point has nothing to do with this moment, so drop it. You are here, be here completely Now. Do not allow the future that your ego is painting for you to exist. Make your own rules, which leads us to the third step.

Way 3: Connection or Connectivity.

Such as is preparation to start the theatrical production, these are the components that you have identified in your reflection stage that will move you away from angst; the concepts, people, places and things that you need to begin the process of looking towards the light that is your life. This is the process of the understanding that there is always a way forward.

In the end, it is a solitary journey that opens itself up to the resources the Universe provides for those who are willing to allow for a brighter future. Anxiety is not a way to live in this Present Moment and has no place here. Let’s begin the process together for while it is indeed a solitary journey, you are never alone.

3 Ways to Stop Being Affected by Other’s Words of Worry Towards You

Worry kills the spirit of the one it inhabits and infects those around them at the same time.

Why does this happen that a soul on a beautiful journey of love allows such an egoic, unhealthy and, very often, irrational look a future that does not yet exist into their very existence. Why has worry been given such a place of respect in our world. Worry is even joked about as a redeeming trait in many movies.

But there is the insidiousness of it, is it not? The idea that it is indeed fodder for ridicule and yet we allow it to still infect our lives baffles me. It as if we are saying it is not so good for someone else to worry, but, its OK for me because somehow, i have in under control.

But with this worry-bound life comes the eradication of Now Moments. Of course, that is the point of worry. In the wake of worry there are no Now Moments, only moments that are somehow out there that must be going to happen in some way and somehow the worry will make those future Now Moments easier to live.

Pretty bizarre thinking when you really analyze it.

The Worry of Others Infects Your Journey

I could go on for days here and have written posts about it before, but the most troubling aspect of worry is the way we allow others to impact our journey with their worrisome attitude. Really, when someone else worries about you in some situation and projects that worry on you, it is nothing but their ego rising to control you.

Let me give you an example of a client who recently took a tumble off of a ladder and broke his back. Now this man has an excellent attitude and takes a very youthful approach to age in general. Well, after he recuperated, he came and saw me and was having some issues with the thoughts of others that he was allowing to impact him.

Essentially, others were telling him that he should not go up on the ladder again. I asked him if he desired to, if he enjoyed getting up on the ladder doing things. He said that he did, that it was not a chore. So we established that it was not something he dreaded but that he felt able and loved being active.

I then asked if others were responsible for his happiness; could they determine the course of his life journey with their worry now moments any way.

He again said no.

I then told him that others were projecting their fear on to him because, more than likely, that is how they would have handled their fear. I even spoke to their wanting to control him by telling him that he was not able to overcome an accident that would more than likely never happen again..

After we finished, he looked back at me as he left and said, “Thank you. I am so tired of others deciding for me my joy in any moment.” I told him that it was none of his business what others thought of his actions and, quite frankly, if he wanted to skydive, it was his business.

3 Ways to Stop Being Affected by Others Words

You see, we have a way of inserting ourselves into the lives of others, often time in the very name of love as “concern” (worry) for them. But really what is going on, is our ego is impacted by them and we are always, if ego-driven, looking to protect ourselves by maintaining that relationship.

Way 1: Always Look at the Concern of Others in its True Nature

I am not asking you to be cold hearted here, but you must begin the journey of living for yourself.

If you are constantly allowing the words and concerns wrapped in worry from others to affect you, can you ever have a truthful journey on your own?

In a way, it is like when we lose a loved one. We mourn, but it is always about the way we are affected. If it is someone very close, we are affected as to the time that we no longer will spend with that person in our lives. Not that it is good or bad, it just it is what it is.

But if we grieve past the normal stages of grief that have been studied from author, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, when she discusses the Five Stages of Grief, then we must look at the hold the ego has on the very act of living.

Way 2: Don’t Allow Others Words of Worry to Become Your Existence

If you base your life on what others think of your actions and allow their words and even the very looks they give you to be an indicator of a course of action for your life, then you have allowed someone else to set a course of direction for you.

To be quite honest, you might be shocked just how little others are actually thinking about you.

I am always amazed at the amount of ego that is present when someone is so invested in others thoughts about their actions. Often it is someone who is very self-conscious and, on the outside, seems very non-egoic. But it is usually just the opposite. The ego has such a hold on them that they base every action on the ideas, words and presumed thoughts of others.

One of my favorite quotes i use for my clients is one from Dr. Seuss where he says, “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”

Way 3: Worry From Others is Often Judgement of Your Journey. Don’t Judge, Just Live

It is your journey. Things are only Bad or Good in the context of the moment, but it is always your journey. No one can worry you better, angry, happy or any other emotion that others desire to afflict you with. Only you can determine the beauty of any Now Moment.

Feel this Present Moment, for it is the only one you have.

Be your own creation and do not allow others to infect their egoic natures on you, for they are on their own journey as well. If you truly can let people say what they must to you and simply say, “Thank you” and then say “that is your journey to think as much and it really is none of my business what you think of mine but I appreciate you for who you are.”

This will always stop the conversation for their really is nowhere else for them to go from there. The key here is to mean it with a sincere heart for you do recognize that their journey is what it is as is yours.

In the end, it really does come down to the fact that what others think of you is, indeed, none of your business…ever!

Bring Yourself to The Forefront – 3 Ways To Recognize Your Uniqueness

At the core of bringing yourself to the forefront and recognizing your unique abilities seems to be an egoic way to be number one in your world, but nothing could be further from the truth.

We are all given a unique focus to bring to the world. It is our gift to the world from the Universe. The challenge is that most don’t think themselves worthy of doing so or being uniquely inspired to be that gift.

Be it someone who has told you that you were not worthy or important or that what you had to offer was not significant to our modern society, whatever that means, it is up to you to push aside all of the useless words that others have decided or directed to you and become the greatness that the Universe desires of you. It is your obligation for if you are still here you have a purpose.

What the Duck is Going on Here?

I recently watched in amusement a new series on A&E called Duck Dynasty about a family that has become millionaires by making duck calling thingys.

Really, i am not kidding! It is quite a show and i am always fascinated by the achievement of those who most would dismiss by making a judgement based on preconceived notions of what success should look like. What comes through in this family that seems as if they are anything but millionaires, is that there is a love for who they are as individuals and a love for what they do and are here to do.

3 Ways to Recognize Your Uniqueness

It really is quite interesting and it proves my bigger point. We are all given a destiny and we are to live it with as much grace and style as the Universe demands, for it does indeed encourage us to do so. We are to allow our uniqueness to shine so that we are that expansion of life that creates a way for others to expand as well.

Way 1: Understand That You Are Not at the Behest of Others

We allow ourselves to be less than the Universe has given us to be due to the opinions and egos of others who often seem as if they have your best interest at heart. We allow our true selves to be buried under a slab of cement to appease and allow others who obviously “know more” to be “right”. But, like a blade of grass under the cement, we must reach for the sun and at some time when the cement starts to crack and give way, our true natures poke through and we experience the freedom of being our authentic selves.

You see it all the time and it is the stuff Hollywood movies are made of; The person that goes into the family business only to discover that they are that blade of grass. When they discover their truth, they are truly free.

Way 2: To Understand Your Destiny, Understand Yourself

This is the dwelling ground of the ego in so many ways. The ego would have you not to be authentic for it is in this place of truth that you don’t really need it to keep you grounded.

You see, maybe the best experience you could do is to allow yourself to fully explore the fullness of your truth. Really grasp the way you could change the world because you can if not but within yourself first. For you see, the world is a better place when you are in a better place within.

The possibilities open up and life unfolds in the most unexpected way when you do. Live the truth that is your uniqueness and the Universe will respond. It is a Universal law.

Way 3: Don’t Hide Your Uniqueness. Live it.

This is the fullness of life in a nutshell. If you have discovered your truth, your uniqueness, then it is your mission to live it to the fullness that the world will allow.

And it will!

The truth of who you are is in the very essence of the larger truth of the Universal Stream of Consciousness. It is the way of God in that we are here to fulfill our mission in such a way that it inspires others to be creative and expansive as well.

I recently saw a video of a police officer ordering at some fast food place moments before the officer was sadly killed in the line of duty. But what was interesting about the video was the conversation the officer was having with a young boy who approached him and struck up a conversation with him.

The video was really about the young boys takeaway from what the officer was saying to him about being an achiever in life. The officer was being a genuine person who happened to be wearing a uniform, not some police officer who was looking for some evil intent in others actions.

The young boy’s life was changed in a moment and maybe that officer, as tragic as was his death, lived the fullest extent of the Universal Way by putting the idea of expansion into the mind of a youngster whose life was forever changed.

Live your uniqueness and become the way that others are inspired to do so as well. Therein lies the beauty of a life well lived.

Clarity, Focus and Personal Improvement: 3 Ways to Maintain Growth

Face it, we are overwhelmed with instantaneous news and content that blasts our senses with information at such a rapid pace, it is a wonder we get anything done at all. It is almost as though, in the world of smartphones, tablets and instant everything, clarity seems to mean overload.

It as if we are being told that unless we have the information we need RIGHT NOW, we can’t function in today’s modern society. Clarity, vision and personal improvement, it seems, hinge on the amount of information you have, not the simplicity of it all.

You Kids, Get Off My Lawn

Now, trust me, I am not a “You kids get of my lawn” kind of guy. I am a tech person thru-and-thru. I love gadgets and, quite frankly do all my pursuits online and with technology, so I understand the temptation to depend on your very thinking with the overload that is today’s world.

But as I sit and type this, I look out my window on what appears to be a beautiful, sunny day. But what the sun is masking in all of its information overload is that when I step outside to go on my daily bike ride, the sun didn’t tell me it was a bit chilly and that the shirt i was wearing wasn’t quite enough to keep me comfortable.

You see, the sun overloaded my senses with its brightness but failed to give me clarity. It was only until I garnered my own experience and perspective, did I see the usefulness of clarity. It was only when I set about on my personal improvement of my desire to keep an active regiment, in this case by riding my bike, did i understand that i needed to protect myself from the chill of the morning.

3 Ways to Maintain Clarity and Focus and Personal Improvement

It seems that many are hyper-focused on “getting it right”, whatever that means, and setting goals and plans with dreams of riches and success and for the “good life’, what ever that is defines for you.

Way 1: Decide What is Right For You

Just Like the sun overload as i set out to ride my bike, I allowed a perceived message of clarity to decide for me as to what was going to be comfortable for me to ride.

But really needed to happen here was that i needed to just put on my sunglasses and decide for myself what was what i needed to ride in comfort.

The same goes for you. Sometimes it means to you need to put on the shades and block out the rays of confusion that may be trying to give you false information that is right for you.

This is the only Now Moment you have and it is the time when clarity and focus  is not decided by the world telling you that this or that must be done or is right for you. Maybe some things can be put on the back burner. Maybe it s time to refocus.

You decide for you for that is the source of joy.

Way 2: Your Goals and Dreams are Opening Nights; The Clarity and Focus of Now is All That Matters

Remember that your goals are Opening Nights. They are out there only as a reminder that you want to be ready when the curtain finally opens, but the only time the curtain is going to matter is in this Now Moment.

You see, your Opening Night just doesn’t matter if the rehearsals were not filled with a clarity and focus that allowed for the excellence of getting your part in the production down.

Way 3: Your Clarity, Focus and Personal Improvement Lifts All Others Around You

The Now Moment is when you are clear and focused on your part only. It is the time to make sure you are comfortable in your own skin. When you seek to improve yourself and seek a clarity and focus about yourself, then you tend to see others as a chance to become better as well. You will find the best in others when you are doing so within first.

On stage the other actors in your play may surprise you in their acting from time to time, but you will never be thrown off as you know YOU so well that you can get them back on track, if needed. When you know the show so well that you have every ones part ingrained as well, you can help guide and actor back on track within the confines of the script.

Clarity, Focus and Personal Improvement are the three sides of the triangle that keep you grounded in this Now Moment, so, put on your sun glasses and decide for yourself that this is the moment that matters most.

Set Opening Night, but don’t live there. Forgive the rehearsal nights of the past that may have been “off” as we all have off nights where it seems as if we just don’t have a rhythm.

That’s the beauty of rehearsal, to become excellent in this Now Moment. Make clarity, focus and personal improvement your triangle that envelops your success and your Opening Nights will be filled with accolades.

Be a Person of Quality. Direct Your Power.

Being Mindful in Your Mission; 3 Ways to Dismiss Worry

There is nothing that can invade the mindfulness of a true Present Moment thinker such as worry.

It is that egoic nature that can take the tranquility of the present Now Moment and give the ego complete and total charge of all that surrounds your Mission.

Worry, that ever-present reality, it seems, for most as they travel from Now Moment to Now Moment.

But why is that?

In a study i read recently, it was stated that a mere 8% of things people worried about actually manifested as reality. I would add that of that 8%, probably most things were so desired, worried about, that they were going to happen no matter what.

So what does that tell us?

It tells us that we are so desperate to desire some unforeseen future that we will manifest it even to the detriment of our very existence.

It tells us that the ego will go to extreme lengths to keep a hold on you, because worry is such as life itself. You forget about the actuality of that which might happen for the understanding that it might happen.

Essentially, most are in such a common place of worry that when one thing happens that they have indeed worried about, it becomes 100%. It happened just as you thought it would and now the ego can use it to bolster its claim on you as the defender of your safety.

One Bad Apple Spoils the Whole Bunch

In the world of theatre, it is as i have seen. An actor has an overall great performance and one person out of a hundred tells them that they didn’t like their performance.

One person! Guess what happens?

That’s correct my young Jedi, they obsess about the one comment, not taking into context at all why that one person didn’t like it, as if it matters. But i have seen a single bad comment take an actor and make them doubt themselves because they worry about another comment to the point that their performance suffers. So the very thing they worry about does indeed manifest.

Worry, really then, is all about the ego. The funny thing is that we have all done it, have we not? Because worry brings forth doubt in ourselves and our situation, we then define ourselves by the very worry we are in any moment we decide to commit ourselves to it. Even more bizarre is our capacity to see others commit themselves to worry and tell them not to.

But since the ego is really at the heart of worry, how can we make sense of it all? Worry is a natural part of life, is it not? I mean, our very existence is given images of worry in every facet of living by our news media alone.

The media feeds on worry and 90% of commercials are worry about some future event happening in your life if you don’t use their product. I have even seen a pill you can take in case you might have heartburn in the future. I am not kidding.

What is the number one cause of heart troubles in the USA alone? Stress. What is stress usually caused by? Worry about some future outcome.

I had a coaching client who recently came to a session in tears. Her daughter was in the midst of a divorce and she was “worried” about the grandchildren and the long-term affect on them.

As i probed deeper, as that must always be done with worry, it came out that it her daughter’s divorce was somehow a reflection on her. Her parenting, her life in general.

Her ego had so encased her in worry and how it was somehow an attack on her very core, that some perceived outcome with her grandchildren was keeping now keeping her in a state of worry about some unknown future.

You see how clever worry is used by the ego? Ultimately, most worry is somehow an attack on YOU and must be dealt with. Just the absurdity of it all makes most laugh but it is an ever-present danger within us all if we are not vigilant in keeping worry at bay.

Living in the Present Moment is freedom from worry but takes a conscious effort to rid yourself of the egoic nature that inhabits the very core of worry.

3 Ways to Begin the Process Dismissing Worry in Your Mission

Way 1: When Worry is Presented as an Option, Play it Out to its End.

What do i mean by that?

Be an actor and write the script. Take the object of worry and make a play out of it, which is what worry is, by the way.

The ego makes a whole play out that you actually believe. This time, however, you write it in your head with whatever far-fetched conclusion that could happen.

Make a game of it.

There is an old saying that you “illustrate absurdity by being absurd” and this is what is the intent. When you see the ridiculousness of all that must happen for the worry to become manifest, it really is quite amusing.

Way 2: Be Ever-Present Within this Now Moment

Decide that you are going to be ever-present in this Now Moment and that worry will not determine a future that does not exist. Just the very act of making a solid commitment will alert you when worry rears its ugly head.

Way 3: Acknowledge that the Ego Exists But Relegate it to the Mailroom of “You, Inc.”

Now, that might seem a bit strange, but if you treat the ego as it should be, as nothing more than someone from the mailroom, instead of the CEO of the company known as YOU, then you will go far in abating worry.

The ego will tell you all kinds of things to supposedly be in your best interest, but what the ego is trying to do is to be the one who makes all the decisions for you. The sad part is that most allow the ego to be in charge.

Take back the night, here. The ego HATES Now Moment living and by keeping you in a constant state of worry about the future gives it full control. Be better than that. Be ever-present in the Now.

Worry is the beast that will rear its ugly head in your life and you must be aware, but it is a beast that can be eradicated.

As far as worry goes, former Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli was quoted as saying, “Worry (the ego) – a God, invisible but omnipotent. It steals the bloom from the cheek and lightness from the pulse; it takes away the appetite, and turns the hair gray.”

Be better than the worry you allow into your life.

Be a Person of Quality. Direct Your Power.

Until then…

Be Excellent, Expect the Best!
